Somewhere Between Rotten and Fresh
Fall 2023
Identity
Exhibition visual
This exhibition explores the liminal spaces between decay and regrowth through contemporary ceramic art. Featured works evoke impermanence and transformation, reminding us that nothing lasts forever.
Cracks, erosion, and intentional weathering of the artists' porcelain and stoneware pieces convey the vulnerability of clay to the ravages of time. Yet within each fragmented or perforated sculpture, the seed of renewal can be found.
